A Busy Weekend in Formby

Weekends in Formby are very busy in July. There are lots of events going on. The biggest and most noticeable is The FormbyLive Music Festival. The organisers describe it as:

Formby's very own music festival, is now in it's 4th year and will be bigger and better than ever before!  With the main events taking place over the weekend of 6th - 8th July, there will be performances from national, and local artists in venues throughout the Village culminating in a full day of music.

On Sunday, 8th of July, there will be a full programme of great entertainment at Formby Pool where The Merseycats will again be putting on a Rock 'n' Roll extravaganza throughout the day.

There are two events around the theme of Crafts. China Butterfly, already a well established local business are opening their new shop in the heart of the village.

And the second event  is a Craft Fair that's being held in the Luncheon Club, this is the second event of it's kind. The first was extremely popular and successful. Go and have a look.

Finally, but not least today Tony Higginson in Formby Books is hosting local author Jean Sprackland, who will be signing her recent BBC Radio 4 Book of the week.
