The National Met Office has issued a 'Yellow warning of ice' in our area including Formby.
This is Valid from: 2100 on Wednesday 29 Jan 2014 and valid to: 1000 on Thursday 30 Jan 2014
All these Local Authorities are affected and associated warning levels Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Halton, Lancashire, Warrington, Blackburn with Darwen, Merseyside
The Chief Forecaster has issued the following assessment:
A short incursion of easterly winds brings just a taste of the wintry weather experienced further east and north across Europe recently. Ice is probably the main concern but a few areas might wake to see a dusting of snow. Rather more snow looks likely over the hillier areas of northeast Britain, with a few cm in places.

There is an opportunity to comment on the Merseyside Police Commissioner's Precept proposals for 2014/15. These charges will form part of your annual Council Tax bill.
HAVE YOUR SAY about the Commissioner's Precept proposals for 2014/15. PCC Jane Kennedy is seeking views on her... http://t.co/HMHT0iIzC6— MerseysidePCC (@MerseysidePCC) January 28, 2014
PCC Jane Kennedy is seeking views on her proposal to raise the policing precept by 1.95% for 2014/15.
"The proposed increase of 1.95% would work out as 4p a week or £2 a year for a Band A property. This is the lowest category of Council Tax and the amount paid by the majority of tax payers on Merseyside. This would mean an increase from £102.42 to £104.42. For a Band D property, the increase would mean an additional £3 a year".
