Happy May Day
Seems a shame that Formby hasn't got it's own local May Day celebration.
Any suggestions?

"You don't pay love back; you pay it forward."
The concept is old, but the phrase may have been coined by Lily Hardy Hammond in her 1916 book In the Garden of Delight.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
Winston S. Churchill

The sun is shining, there's no wind to speak of and the weather forecast is good. Let's hope it stays this way.
I hope you all have a good weekend and Bank Holiday. I'm planning to take a few days away from the screen.
Bluebells Galore
“A fine and subtle spirit dwells
In every little flower,
Each one its own sweet feeling breathes
With more or less of power. “
(Opening lines of a poem by Anne Bronte celebrating ‘The Bluebell’)
I can still recall a childhood memory of walking through a vast, seemingly, everlasting bluebell wood. It was sunny, and my parents had decided on a ‘Mystery Trip’ one Sunday afternoon.
I’m sorry to say we picked armfuls of the flowers to fill vases on getting home. Nowadays, and rightly so, you can look, but not touch or pick.
What started this line of thinking was a small valiant patch of bluebells I spotted thrusting outwards from beneath an adjacent garden fence while walking the footpath from Green lane towards Paradise Lane........
The Atkinson Bank Holiday Times
Given the weather why not venture into Formby Village, meet up with friends and enjoy a coffee or drink.
It's time for a spot of Easter conviviality, don't you think?

Climate change really ought to be addressed now
Reducing UK emissions - 2018 Progress Report to Parliament - Committee on Climate Change
— Sean Brady (@FormbyVillage) April 19, 2019
In this report, ‘The Committee sets out four key messages to Government to put emissions reductions on track, based on the lessons of the last decade.https://t.co/jF74tfEpjH
Climate Change may seem to be far removed from Formby, but we will experience the effects as much as the rest of the planet.
My questions: ‘What can I do?’, ‘What should our local Councillors be doing?’,
The NHS in Sefton is changing and it needs your help
Sefton residents are being asked for their views about how local services could be improved. They will also be asked to share their ideas on how people can live healthier lives and what improvements they think could be made to help people access services quickly.
With growing pressure on the NHS – people living longer, more people living with long-term conditions, and lifestyle choices affecting people’s health – changes are needed to make sure everybody gets the support they need.
Share your views via the ‘what would you do?’ online surveys here and help make care better.
Read more about why you should take part here.
